CONTEMPORARY PENCHANT FOR THE MACABRE AND SINISTER

Death, and things relating to death are the latest fashion. It has become popular to display Skulls and Cross Bones, or Cross Swords. They're in Flags, Jewelry, Hood ornaments, Bumper-stickers, Tatoos, and even T-shirts. Everyone is jumping on the 'Death' bandwagon.
My question is: If we're all heading for the grave (and most don't want to go), why is it such an amusing subject?
I don't see what's so 'chic' about it. We'll all be there before you know it. I just don't understand the fascination with death?
Does all this have anything to do with the movie:
"Pirates of the Caribbean"? Halloween? Motor-Cycles?
I don't think so!
I believe it is a return to mysterious ancient traditions. It is an indication of occult and primitive pagan traditions, that attempt to communicate with the dead. The dead know nothing. When someone thinks they're speaking to the dead, they are really speaking to (fallen angels) demons.
