Ignorance of the Counsels Will Not Excuse Us

—I am instructed to say to our churches, Study the Testimonies. They are written for our admonition and encouragement upon whom the ends of the world are come. If God's people will not study these messages that are sent to them from time to time, they are guilty of rejecting light.

Line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little, God is sending instruction to His people. Heed the instruction; follow the light. The Lord has a controversy with His people because in the past they have not heeded His instruction and followed His guidance.
Letter 292, 1907.

Are the Testimonies she refers to the Bible? Or is she talking about the Testimonies for the Church series she wrote? Perhaps both?

Todd,

I believe Sister White was speaking about her writings collectively. They are (and have been refered to as) the Testimonies; which are also called the Spirit of Prophecy.

As a people we regard 'all the advice' that Ellen G. Write wrote was inspired by the Holy Spirit; Therefore it's fit for instruction, edification, and considered a direct manifestation of the Lord's will for his remnant.

Arsenio,

Maranatha.

Thanks for the response. I thought it was at least the testimonies for the church series, but then wondered due to the "line upon line..." sentence because that is one we use in regarding how to study the Bible.
