NEW YORK — Ads that call some radical Muslims "savage" are going to be posted in the New York City subway system next week. Conservative blogger Pamela Geller won a court order that allowed her to put the ads up Monday in 10 subway stations. New York transit officials had initially refused to run the ad, calling it "demeaning."

The ad reads: "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad."

Geller — who once campaigned against a planned Islamic center near ground zero — says she isn't concerned that the ads will spark violent protests that have rocked the Middle East over an anti-Islamic film.

New York Muslim leaders called the ad hate speech. The ad has also appeared on San Francisco buses.
