Terzi condemns wave of violent Prophet movie protests

19:20 15 SET 2012 (AGI) Rome - Italy's Terzi today condemned the "unacceptable and unjustified" violence attached to Muslim protests worldwide. Addressing World eParliament Conference audiences in Rome today, foreign minister Giulio Terzi also lambasted the content and format of 'The Innocence of Muslims', which triggered worldwide Muslim outrage. The foreign minister, however, underscored that those who "breed tension and conflict" fail to foster the greater interests of their religion. Terzi went on to say "we can but firmly condemn any efforts to breed instability." The foreign minister, therefore, urged "society's democratic players" to help avert the risk of religious differences being used by fundamentalists." Key to averting repeat instances of such violence, Terzi added, are "renewed efforts to foster dialogue."
